SUBSCRIBE to NEVER Miss a Food Theory! ►►
I've seen the videos Creators posted about trying to live for 24 hours in a grocery store or places like Target. That got me thinking. How long COULD you survive in a grocery store? Whether you were locked in or it was your home base in a zombie apocalypse, how long would you be able to SURVIVE with that as your only source of sustenance? Today, I'm going to settle in and find out!

  • I would guess around 20 years. Depends on the store and if the power stays on the whole time. Spoilage can be postponed with freezers obviously, but there are so many processed foods that take forever to go bad. If you conserved right and had power the whole time, you could probably stretch it to 40 years.

  • You might be able to expand the soil buy using cat litters and other store products. Soil is composed of; clay, sand, and organic matter. Many cat litters are 100% clay just stay away from the ones that have other stuff in it, there are also cat litters made up of sawdust pressed into pellets. Organic matter is the compost you mentioned. As for the sand when you look at what it provides to the plant it's drainage. So any non absorbing media. Heck you could even crush up glass into a fine powder and add it (wouldn't use it for root crops); however, broken up plastic would do the same thing and be less of a hazard.

If you were fortunate enough to be inside a larger one, such as a Walmart, you may even be able to get some solar power or the like.
